Throwback Thursday #6

It’s my sixth Throwback Thursday and I blame Lauren at The Housework Can Wait, and Mandi Kaye for my obsession with this idea! From Lauren’s website, Throwback Thursday is a day to:

It’s the nature of book blogging to focus mainly on new releases, but there are thousands of great books out there that haven’t seen the “New Releases” shelf in years. We hope to be able to bring attention to some older titles that may not be at the top of the current bestseller list, but still deserve a spot in your To-Be-Read pile.

When I was 16 (2007) a movie called The Seeker: The Dark is Rising was released and I instantly fell in love. What I loved even more about this movie was the discovery of books! Hallelujah! I almost love it more when I find out movies were based on books than when I find out books are going to be adapted (aka when I don’t read the book first). I know that if I love the movie then I will most definitely love the book because, as we all know, books are ALWAYS better than the movies.
Do you guys know what’s better than discovering the movie you love is based off of a book? Finding out that it’s part of a SEQUENCE of books! And let me tell you guys! The ending of the series (and a lot of the themes within it) left me with a heavy heart. Like The Belgariad from last weeks Throwback Thursday this series follows a series of children but that doesn’t always mean it’s only a chidren’s book. You guys really need to check these out!
