A Spark Unseen Blog Hop, Day 6

I am so excited for today! It’s my day to post on the A Spark Unseen Blog Hop. Sharon and I have been planning this hop for months so to have it finally be happening, and finally be on my blog, is so exciting! I hope you are all enjoying it as much as I am!

The thrilling sequel to Sharon Cameron’s blockbuster gothic steampunk romance, THE DARK UNWINDING, will captivate readers anew with mystery and intrigue aplenty.

When Katharine Tulman wakes in the middle of the night and accidentally foils a kidnapping attempt on her uncle, she realizes Stranwyne Keep is no longer safe for Uncle Tully and his genius inventions. She flees to Paris, where she hopes to remain undetected and also find the mysterious and handsome Lane, who is suspected to be dead.

But the search for Lane is not easy, and Katharine soon finds herself embroiled in a labyrinth of political intrigue. And with unexpected enemies and allies at every turn, Katharine will have to figure out whom she can trust–if anyone–to protect her uncle from danger once and for all.

Filled with deadly twists, whispering romance, and heart-stopping suspense, this sequel to THE DARK UNWINDING whisks readers off on another thrilling adventure.

Five things you will NOT learn about Mary Brown from The Dark Unwinding or A Spark Unseen:

*Mary Brown only says half the things she is actually thinking.

*If Mary Brown had ever met Anne Shirley, they would have been bosom friends.

*Unfortunately, none of the girls in the Lower Village was Anne Shirley.

*Mary was left on her own quite a bit in Paris, and decided to search the shelves in the men’s salon for a book to help her pass the time. Her choices were limited –all the books being French– so she chose a heavily illustrated guide to classical sculpture and took it upstairs. Mary was so scandalized by the illustrations in this book that she hid it under her mattress, where the young and innocent Marguerite would be sure not to find it. Mary made sure Marguerite could not find the book by checking on it nearly every night. This book mysteriously found its way into Mary’s trunk and traveled all the way to England, ensuring Marguerite’s safety and that Mary Brown’s knowledge of classical art forms was significantly improved.

*It soon became evident that Mary’s newfound talent with a set of pick locks bordered on genius, almost equal to Uncle Tully’s skill with a soldering iron. But she always used her powers for good. Only ever for good.

Want to win? Follow the blog hop each day (see schedule below). Use the forward and back buttons to hop from one fascinating post to the next (interviews, location scouting, and secret character tidbits!), and enter the rafflecopter each day to win copies of THE DARK UNWINDING or A SPARK UNSEEN!
Want to win Sharon’s “Big Bag o’ Books and Swag” Grand Prize, or be one of the lucky 3 runners up? Then you will have to be clever! Each day there will be one letter hidden on one blog hop post, for a total of 10 letters. The letter will look like this:

And this one does NOT count, guys!
Collect all 10 letters, then unscramble to make two words that answer this question:
“What does Katharine Tulman want most?”
Were you clever? Then enter the two words you’ve unscrambled into the grand prize rafflecopter on the last stop and you could win. Easy!
Want to know what’s in the “Big Bag o’ Swag?” Hardbacks of THE DARK UNWINDING and A SPARK UNSEEN, books and arcs from my best writing buddies (including Ruta Sepetys), a flashdrive containing the AMAZING TDU audio book, Scholastic swag, TDU and ASU swag, and MORE, all swaddled in a cute I READ YA Scholastic tote. 3 runners up will be receiving a TDU/ASU hardback set.
